What are those black streaks on my roof?
The blackness on your roof is actually an algae called Gleocapsa Magma. It feeds on the limestone that your shingles are made of. Over time, this algae spreads and can cover your whole roof. Limestone, limited sunlight, and moisture are all this algae needs to survive.
